The year is 1880, ten years after the tragic accident at the Opera Populaire, and the fire that left it a charred version of it's former self. Christine Daee and Raoul de Changy are happily married and the once magnificent opera house has been left in an unbroken silence. No music has come from it's walls, and not a soul has trespassed it's labyrinthine halls. The infamous Phantom of the Opera, that once haunted the opera house, is naught but a passing legend, a faded memory to the people of Paris. Except to those unlucky few who were there to witness that fateful night so long ago.

Richard Firmin and Gilles André thought themselves ruined after the damage done to the opera house. But after quite a while of thinking, and the suspicion that the Opera Ghost was indeed gone, they decided to reopen the doors of the beloved Opéra Populaire once again. Soon the silent halls of the opera house will be filled with the voices of people once again, and it's walls will echo the music once thought to be forever forgotten to the grand establishment. But all is not as well as it seems, for lurking deep within the cellars of the opera house, is a nightmare that seems to refuse to go away.
